Ruins of Akrotiri

Step back in time and uncover the mysteries of an ancient civilization as you venture into the fascinating ruins of Akrotiri in Santorini. Often referred to as the “Minoan Pompeii,” Akrotiri offers a remarkable archaeological experience, providing a glimpse into a thriving ancient city that was buried under volcanic ash and preserved for millennia.

Red Beach

The Red Beach gets its name from the rich hues of red and volcanic black that dominate its landscape. The towering cliffs, composed of iron-rich volcanic rocks, have been sculpted over time by the forces of nature, resulting in a breathtaking mosaic of colors. The contrast between the crimson cliffs and the azure sea creates an otherworldly scene that will leave you in awe.

Mount. of Prophet Elias

Rising majestically from the heart of Santorini, Mount Prophet Elias (Profitis Ilias) stands as a symbol of spirituality and serenity. As the highest point on the island, this sacred mountain offers not only breathtaking panoramic views but also a profound connection to the island’s religious heritage and cultural significance.

Step into the welcoming ambiance of the winery’s tasting room, where you can indulge in a delightful wine tasting experience. Blue Domes in Oia

A visit to Oia is an invitation to witness the epitome of Cycladic beauty, where the cerulean domes contrast perfectly against the whitewashed buildings and the azure waters of the Aegean Sea.

Tour Description

Our guide/driver will meet you at a pre-agreed spot by your Airbnb/Hotel/cruise port, with a modern luxurious vehicle to start the tour.

You will be visiting the archaeological site of Akrotiri, one of the most significant prehistoric findings also know as the Greek Pompey.

A quick stop at the Red Beach for photos will follow.

Later on you will head all the way up to the highest point of the island, the monastery of Prophet Elias to admire the island from above. You will be able to shop local goods from the local monks such as olive oil, caper leaves and wild honey.

Take the chance to visit one of the local family boutique wineries to taste indigenous varieties of volcanic grapes and learn about the unique cultivation methods.

On the way to Oia we will stop at one of the highest view points of the Caldera, overseeing at the Caldera cliffs.

The last stop will be the famous Blue Domes of Oia, the town at the northest part of the island. Scenic island views and terrain shifting along the way from one point to the other becomes an experience on its own as well as the the chance to see the vineyards up close, meanwhile you will be briefed about the island in detail.

You are indeed a treasure trove of knowledge, from local history to World affairs....we learnt so much from you about Greek culture, all in the comfort of your back seat. He gives incredible island tours, but was also able to go way beyond expectations by knowing everything about ancient history, world affairs, and everything in between.
